Join World Tea Party at Presentation House Gallery! World Tea Party takes the form of an archetypal tea salon which transforms itself according to the context, histories and realities of the place and time in which it is manifested. Tea is served, people are welcome to talk - tea is widely believed to enhance the art of conversation - among a wealth of tea-paintings, photos, Indian miniatures, Chinese scrolls, Japanese calligraphies and tea accoutrements from around the world. Visitors can also activate an interactive computer system, an archive of video images of tea harvesting, tea ceremonies and eccentric tea parties, along with sounds of classical and contemporary Asian and European tea-music repertoires as well as rattling tea cups and other 'tea noises.' |
